What Exactly is ISEE Test?
The ISEE test (Independant School Entrance Exam ) is an advanced admission testing process which has become the standard test for entrance private and independant schools. The standard provided by such testing are in line with the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE), the International Reading Association (IRA), and the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM).
The test has three levels, the first level is for students currently studying in grade 4 and 5. The next level for those currently in grades 5 and 6 and the upper level for students in grades 8 through 11.
In all cases the test consists of three parts.
- Verbal Reasoning and Quantittative reasoning.
- Reading Comprehension, and Mathematics achievement.
- An Essay section
ISEE Test breakdown
The three hour test is broken down as follows:
Verbal Reasoning, Synonyms, Sentence Completion – (40 questions, 20 minutes)
Quantitative Reasoning, Concepts and Understanding – (35 questions, 35 minutes)
Reading Passages Comprehension – (40 questions, 40 minutes)
Mathematics Achievement, Arithmetic/Algebra/Geometry – (45 questions, 40 minutes)
Essay – (30 minutes)
